Beate Axmann is a contemporary, Germany-based artist working internationally, renowned for her expressive and dynamic drawings and paintings. Most of her intuitive artworks reflect her engagement with contemporary issues and her personal emotions towards them. Her pieces are created using ink and acrylic.
For 20 years, angels have been brought to life in the studio of artist Beate Axmann. Each angel is unique and full of character, capturing a sense of fleetingness through expressive ink work. They embody playfulness, lightness, comfort, dignity, freedom, protection, sensuality, cheekiness, pride, and self-determination.

Angels play a fascinating role in art history. From antiquity to the Renaissance and contemporary art. It's exciting to see how different artists, such as Raphael, Marc Chagall, Paul Klee, Keith Haring, and Anselm Kiefer, have interpreted these mysterious, intangible beings.
Beate Axmann also navigates artistically within the tension between the invisibility and visual representation of angels. She plays with the theme and flirts with it, creating distinctive, mysterious, and strong-willed angel figures with her unique, expressive stroke.
